Justice Mary Ukaego Peter-Odili, CFR, JSC (Rtd), DSSRS, is a retired Justice of the Supreme Court of Nigeria with a remarkable career spanning over 44 years in the judiciary. Born on May 12, 1952, in Amudi Obizi, Ezinihitte-Mbaise, Imo State, she is the third woman to ascend to the Supreme Court Bench since its inception in 1963 and was recognized as the most senior female judicial officer in Nigeria as of 2022. Her extensive experience encompasses both civil and criminal procedures, she has made significant contributions to the Nigerian judicial system through her roles in various high-profile judicial and legal bodies, including the National Judicial Council and the Body of Benchers.

Justice Peter-Odili's educational background includes an LLB from the University of Nigeria, Nsukka, and a BL from the Nigerian Law School, Lagos. Throughout her career, she has held numerous influential positions, such as Pro-Chancellor of Rivers State University of Science and Technology and Chairman of the NJC Interview Committee.
