Hon. Justice Halima Sa'ddiya Mohammed
Chief Judge, Gombe State
Hon. Justice Halima Sa'addiya Mohammed is the Chief Judge of Gombe State. She was born on 3rd May, 1963, in Tula, Gombe State.
She received her early education at L.E.A. Primary School, Billiri, and Queen Elizabeth School, Ilorin, and later attended the Bauchi College of Arts and Science. She studied Law at Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, where she obtained the Bachelor of Laws (LL.B Hons) degree, and thereafter attended the Nigerian Law School, where she was called to the Nigerian Bar. She subsequently earned a Master of Laws (LL.M) degree from the University of Jos.
Justice Mohammed commenced her legal career in 1987 as a State Counsel. She rose through the ranks of the judiciary, serving in various judicial and administrative capacities, including Magistrate, Senior Magistrate, and Deputy Chief Registrar of the Gombe State High Court. She was appointed a Judge of the High Court of Gombe State in 2001.
She served as Acting Chief Judge of Gombe State from October 2022, and was confirmed as the Substantive Chief Judge in February 2023.
Justice Mohammed has served as a member of Election Petition Tribunals in various states of the Federation. She has also participated in local and international legal conferences and is actively involved in professional associations and community development initiatives.
